Howrah Taekwondo Club profile:

Joe Pavic established Howrah Taekwondo, based on the Hobart’s Eastern Shore in 1986.

Current active Club membership is 80, with two thirds of the members made up of families.70% of the membership is made up of juniors. The club has enjoyed success in the sport side of Taekwondo having a number of state champions in a range of categories and more recently at the nationals held in Sydney.
Five junior members represented the state and all five placed in the top three in their respective divisions.

Despite the success in the sport side of Taekwondo, the philosophy of the club does not focus primarily on the competitive aspect of development.

During the last five years there has been a considerable increase in the number of families that have become involved. For this reason a change in approach has also evolved in the class structure as well as development of social functions and opportunities for family type activities.
